Get involved at our next Work in Progress meeting
At our next meeting, artist and founder member of blimey! Carol Sommer is calling for artists or anyone interested in being involved, to come along and take part in contributing to one of her latest pieces –
I’m making a short film of women reading descriptions of Iris Murdoch’s fictional female characters and would like to invite as many women as are willing to take part, at the next blimey! meeting on Wednesday 2nd April from 7.30pm at Darlington Central Working Men’s Club, Beaumont Street, Darlington. Everyone very welcome and all contributions will be gratefully acknowledged.

Feb Work In Progress

First meeting of 2014
Following on from last year and deciding to hold our meetings on the first Wednesday of each month, our first meeting of 2014 will be on Wednesday 5th February at 7.30pm, upstairs in Darlington Central Working Mens Club.
This will be a ‘Work in Progress’ meeting so please come along and bring any ideas or art work that you’d like honest and friendly feedback on from the group.
We’ll also be planning our next series of artist talks and talking about further plans for the year.

Trash ‘n’ Treasure Art Bazaar in Darlington
Come along to Trash ‘n’ Treasure Art Bazaar on Sat 9th Nov, 11am-3pm at The Bridge Centre for Visual Arts on Hundens Lane, Darlington.
We’ll be having a stall there with loads of stuff on sale, from paint sets to old cameras. There’ll even be some artwork on sale from blimey! members, including prints, paintings, framed works and more…
It’ll be a great opportunity to meet new creative people and find out what Darlington has to offer to visual artists.

James Paterson to give artist talk
Artist James Paterson, currently working on the Beehive Ballroom residency project at Lingfield Point which will be shown at the upcoming Festival of Thrift, is giving the next artist talk at blimey!
The talk is taking place at our usual venue, Darlington Central Club, DL1 7RN, 7.30pm on Wed 11th September.
£2 donation per person, everyone welcome.
