Wednesday 7th September | 7.30pm – Darlington Central Club, 7 Beaumont St, Darlington DL1 5RN

September’s blimey! Artist Talk sees artists from the 26:86 Collective talking about their experiences from their recent artist research trip to Chernobyl, Ukraine. 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the catastrophic nuclear explosion. The 14 strong mutli-discipline collective visited the 30km exclusion zone in March this year and are creating work in response to their experience and the effects of the nuclear disaster. Join us to find out more!

The 26:86 Collective is a group of artists and designers with a common creative goal. We travelled to Chernobyl and Pripyat in the Ukraine to investigate the issues at the site on the 30th anniversary of the world’s biggest and most devastating nuclear disaster. This trip inspired a multi-disciplined body of work which will be exhibited with the intention of raising awareness of relevant, weighty and significant issues regarding nuclear energy within our communities today.
