Stellar Projects & Navigator North present Stargazing Tents at Nightfall 2016
Nightfall (Sky full of stars) will be a magical evening on Friday 14th October 2016, in Middlesbrough town centre which will include a programme of installations and activities based on the beauty and wonder of night sky, produced by Stellar Projects. It will use a range of artforms to explore all things star-related from constellations to the zodiac, evening light to the science of stars.
Stargazing Tents – Call out for emerging artists
Selected artists will work alongside Stellar Projects and Navigator North to create site specific installations as part of Nightfall, called Stargazing Tents. The Five early stage artists will create content for a series of Stargazing Tents – forming a cluster of tents in Centre Square, Middlesbrough which will be accessible to the public.
Emerging artists will work alongside more established and experienced artists and arts professionals during this project to support their professional development – building valuable experience, connections and genuine sector specific skills to enhance their career in the arts. The commissions can be of any art form and can include visual arts, film/projection, sound, performance etc.
The selected artists will each benefit from a bursary. This will include £300, mentoring, workspace, technical support, equipment and professional support. Artists and their work will be profiled, documented and marketed during the project. Artists must be available for all project days.
