. . . Goy Boy McIlroy are playing an acoustic set for us on the Saturday night of ‘Lounge’. Don’t miss your chance to see Darlington’s hottest band.
If any of you helpful and creative-friendly folks out there would like to help us out by lending a hand in loading up and moving our ‘Lounge’ furniture to and from Darlington Arts Centre on Thursday 1st and Monday 5th September we’d really appreciate any help. Even if you can spare an hour on one of the days, get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
As an added extra to the work on show as part of blimey! Lounge we’ve come up with a way of giving visitors a chance to take away a piece of original artwork as well as a bottle from our ‘bar’. We’re asking artists to donate a re-designed bottle, can etc… of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage to become part of our bar. All donated works will be raffled off on the Saturday night, and the proceeds will go towards funding this and future blimey! events and activities. Donations are welcome from any artist who wants to contribute to the ‘bar’, but please make sure the beverage inside is untampered with and in it’s original container (obviously the outside of the container can be as creative as you like). We’d like all donated drinks to be on show from the Friday onwards to attract interest and of course ‘stock’ our bar. If you’re up for the challenge either get in touch with us or bring your bottle along on the Friday. All donors will receive a free strip of raffle tickets.
As you can see from the photo, blimey! have been busy planning our next exciting event – blimey! Lounge. Admittedly, this might have included a couple of glasses of wine. Preparations are going well, artists have been selected, tasks have been divvied up between us and postcard designs are being drafted as we speak.
